1. If you are off-campus, you first need to establish a VPN connection. (Instructions how to do this can be found at [http://admin.utep.edu/Default.aspx?tabid=3509 IT's web site]).
 
  
2. Log on to the remote server 'utepsoftware.utep.edu'. (Go to: All programs->Accessories->Remote Desktop Connection). Use your usual credentials. Voila!

Click on the Mathematica icon on "your" desktop; after a couple of minutes and some permission checks, you'll finally get to Mathematica. Click on "Create new... Notebook".

You can access Mathematica (and other software) remotely from any computer. This should work for all operating systems. See http://admin.utep.edu/Default.aspx?tabid=65399 for more information.
