Your report must have a cover page. The cover page lists the project title, the due date and the full names of the members of your group. All pages of the project must be stapled together.
It is not necessary to type or word-process your report. Legible handwriting is sufficient.
It is not acceptable to just staple together a bunch of math formulas and some computer graphics printouts. You are supposed to explain in words how you proceed in solving the problems the project addresses. If you attach computer printouts, you have to explain their meaning.
Some of the projects require the use of computer programs. Axes in computer graphics printouts usually are not labeled, and sometimes not scaled. You must include these labels and scaling by hand.
Before you print computer graphics, make sure that the background of the graphics is set to white to save printer ink. Use a color printer only if deemed absolutely necessary. The color printer in CRBL 402 is excruciatingly slow!
Working in a student group can be productive, efficient and fun. Make sure these adjectives apply to your group work. Each individual team member owes it to the group to show up at group meetings, and to be a responsible member of the team. It is in my experience detrimental to the group grade to split the work into equal parts to be done by the group members individually.
Avoid procrastination
. Do not expect to be able to complete a project in one shot the evening (night?) before the due date.
The group turns in only one report for the whole group. All members in a group receive the same grade. While it is no obstacle for productive group work to have both stronger and weaker group members, the active members in a group usually get tired pretty quickly of "freeloaders"; I encourage groups to omit names of "freeloaders" on the cover page.
It is a good idea to give each group member a special role: try to designate e.g. a "scheduler" to set up meetings, a "keep-on-track" person and a "note taker" during meetings, a "final checker" etc.
Your group report has to be turned in by 5:00 p.m. (sharp) on the due date. Late reports will not be accepted under any circumstances.
